The Commons

We're passionate about letting people express themselves, especially when things might seem taboo or make us uncomfortable. That's why we started our print magazine (be sure to subscribe). While printing logistics make it so we can only highlight a handful of stories each year, we think the next step is inviting more people to participate.

So, we brought the VOLUME 0 ethos online with THE COMMONS. Each month, everyone is invited to share their short fiction right here. If it fits the doctrine and is under 3,000 words, we'll post it below.

At the end of each month, one story will be selected as that month's best. In addition to glory and our lifelong respect, the author will also be awarded $1,000. Follow along on our substack (coming soon) where we'll be sharing highlights and keeping you updated.
